WESTBORO COMMUNITY CHURCH

COMMUNITY

To be an example of Jesus Christ in our service to our community by meeting their specific needs through Word and Deed.
Westboro Community Church is a church for the 21st Century grounded in the traditions of our forefathers and mothers.

The Original church was dedicated as a Wesley Chapel M.E. church, built and founded in 1854, later becoming Westboro United Methodist Church until 2022. In 2023 the church changed to become a non-denominational Christian Church called Westboro Community Church.

Dedicated in 1993 a new addition was added to the original church building, this addition has allowed Westboro Community Church to continue to be a center for the community.

The 1993 addition included a large fellowship hall, classrooms and a large kitchen space which has allowed the church to be used for numerous community events and meetings. Since the hall has direct access to the sanctuary, the church can be used to host a wedding as well as the reception.

Today the Fellowship Hall is used as the local voting precinct for the citizens of Jefferson Township.

The Fellowship Hall is used as a meeting place for local 4-H organizations, school board meetings, History Night presentations, recreational basketball, as well as church functions such as our annual Christmas Play.

The ballfield has been used by many local area softball, knothole and t-ball teams-both girls and boys. The shelter house is available for reunions, birthday parties, and other private and public gatherings.

If interested in using any of the amenities, contact a member of the church to check availability. In the event there is a conflict between church use and public/private use, the church will have priority.

Baseball field used by the youth of the community and by local adult and youth ball teams for practice.

The picnic/shelter house is used by the church for numerous outdoor events and activities, it's also a place where family reunions and parties are held by church members and the people of our community.

Basketball court is continually used by the community as a place of recreation.

These recreation areas have provided a place for the community to gather and play and a place where families and friends can gather for fun and recreation.
